Criminal Justice Technology

The criminal justice technology degree at COTC prepares students for a rewarding career in criminal justice. Those who enroll in the program can expect to learn about the three facets of the justice system: law enforcement, corrections and courts. 


Emergency Medical Paramedic

The Institute of Public Services & Safety at COTC offers a one year OBR approved paramedic certificate program for students interested in becoming certified paramedics. After completing the certificate, the student will be eligible to apply to take The National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Paramedic exam. Classes are offered on COTC’s Knox and Pataskala campuses.

Emergency Medical Services Technology

The Institute for Public Safety at COTC offers an Associate of Applied Science in EMS Technology that is composed of the EMT and paramedic certificates as well as selected general education classes. The AAS is a two-year program and the best choice for students seeking a professional career in EMS with the ability for promotion and advancement. 


Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certificate

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certificate is eligible for a short-term certificate grant available to students with demonstrated financial need as well as students who are currently in or exiting foster care.

Technical rescue is a highly specialized “high risk/low frequency” area of fire department operations that requires a disproportionate amount of training and education when compared to “low risk / high frequency” operations in Fire and Emergency Services (FES).
