Overview

Students have the opportunity to participate in College Credit Plus at Central Ohio Technical College in three different ways:

  • COTC college courses are taught by high school teachers at the high school. (Partnering high school)
  • COTC college courses are taught by COTC faculty at the high school. (Partnering high school)
  • COTC college courses are taught by COTC faculty at any of COTC’s four campuses and/or online.

Due to COVID-19, COTC is not sending faculty into partnering high schools and has modified course offerings for students. Please review our academic engagement plan for more information.

Are you a:

New CCP Student

Complete the free COTC application (you may need to create an account first).

Submit your official homeschool transcript with an unweighted GPA.

Transcripts can be submitted as follows:

  • Emailed directly from high school personnel to cotcrecords@mail.cotc.edu. 
  • Mailed to COTC, The Gateway – Student Records, 1179 University Drive, Newark, OH 43055. 

Submit a copy of  your school district communication recognizing student eligibility for home school instruction as outlined in OAC 3301-34-04. It’s best to submit this letter with your home school transcript.

Review and complete the funding application steps outlined by the Ohio Department of Education. Please be aware of all state deadlines listed in the funding application. Submit a copy of your Ohio Department of Education Funding letter to Robin Champ, Records Support Specialist, at champ.11@mail.cotc.edu.

Concurrent Enrollment is available to students who wish to take classes beyond the credit hours indicated on their funding letter through the Ohio Department of Education or have missed the funding deadline.

Policy changes have been made by the State of Ohio due to COVID-19. New students for the 20-21/21-22 school year are eligible to participate in CCP if they have a high school (unweighted) GPA of 3.0 or higher. 

COTC is providing placement testing for students on a limited basis for eligibility and admission consideration to CCP. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we prefer to test students remotely; however, some on-campus testing is available if needed. Connect with an Admissions Representative to determine whether you need placement testing: ccp@mail.cotc.edu.

Continuing CCP Student

Each school year students who want to continue participating in CCP need to request an updated acceptance letter and letter of good standing from COTC to upload to their Ohio Department of Education funding application.

To request an updated acceptance letter and a letter of good standing from COTC, students should email Robin Champ, Records Support Specialist, at champ.11@mail.cotc.edu. 

Students who want to continue participating in CCP also need to request an updated official high school transcript with an unweighted GPA be sent to COTC.
