Begin Your College Journey at COTC Then transfer your credits to a four-year university
Overview
Many students want to pursue a bachelor’s degree but choose to
begin their college education by completing a transfer degree at
a community college. Transfer degrees, such as the
Associate of Arts and the Associate of Science, are designed to
allow students to begin their bachelor’s degree and transfer
their courses to a four-year university to continue their
education.
COTC, as a technical and community college, offers several
transfer degree options, along with flexible scheduling, small
class sizes close to home, all at an affordable cost. Hear from a
COTC graduate, who completed a transfer degree and went on to
attend a four-year university.

fit for you and your college journey.
If you are considering a career in the arts, we recommend
pursuing an Associate of Arts degree to complete the first two
years of a bachelor’s degree. The Associate of Arts degree
requires completion of more arts and humanities courses, such as
English and Philosophy (and fewer math and science courses).
If you are considering a career in math, science or a STEM field,
we recommend pursuing an Associate of Science degree to complete
the first two years of a bachelor’s degree. The Associate of
Science degree requires completion of more math and science
courses (and fewer arts and humanities courses such as English
and Philosophy).
Students who complete an Associate of Arts or an Associate of
Science at a two-year college at COTC in the areas of biology,
English and psychology can seamlessly transfer their credits to a
four-year university in the consortium to continue their
education and earn a bachelor’s degree.
