Academic Champion Workshops

This workshop series will help you learn the skills to be a more successful student. Students who successfully attend all five workshops and earn a semester GPA of 2.0 or better will be recognized with the Academic Champion designation- receiving a certificate and acknowledgment on COTC’s website. Workshops will be in Hopewell Hall, room 53, lasting about 45 minutes.

Memory and Notetaking Skills

This workshop will discuss how our memory works and effective note-taking skills to aid in remembering what we learn.

Jan. 17 at 11 a.m.
Jan. 18 at 11 a.m.

Procrastination

This workshop will discuss reasons why we procrastinate and tips on how to avoid it.

This workshop will be held on:
Jan. 24 at 11 a.m.
Jan. 25 at 11 a.m.

Study Strategies

This workshop will discuss various study strategies to ensure that you are getting the most out of your study time.

This workshop will be held on:
Jan. 31 at 11 a.m.
Feb. 1 at 11 a.m.

Motivation and Goals

This workshop will discuss how to stay motivated while in college and how to set effective goals. 

This workshop will be held on:
Feb. 7 at 11 a.m.
Feb. 8 at 1 p.m.

Test-Taking Strategies

This workshop will discuss how to be a better test taker and deal with test anxiety.

This workshop will be held on:
Feb. 14 at 11 a.m.
Feb. 15 at 11 a.m.
