Peace Officer Basic Training Academy Named a STAR Training Center

Setting itself apart among institutions in central Ohio and statewide, Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) recently received designation by the Ohio Attorney General’s Office as an approved STAR Training Center for law enforcement. It is the fifth academy statewide and first in Central Ohio to receive the award.

Food Vendors Wanted for Concert, Fireworks at Newark Campus

Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) and The Ohio State University at Newark, with support from the J. Gilbert Reese Family Foundation, celebrate Independence Day with a concert and fireworks on July 3 at the shared Newark campus. The institutions are seeking food vendors to serve spectators at the event, which is expected to draw more than 20,000 people.

Be a Vital Member of the Anesthesia Care Team

The Anesthesia Technology program is being discontinued, and no applicants are being accepted.

As a growing allied health profession, the Anesthesia Technology profession specifically focuses on fundamental and advanced clinical procedures which assist the anesthesia provider in the safe and efficient care of patient’s receiving anesthesia. Working under the direction of an anesthesia care team, the Anesthesia Technologist is a vital member of the team as they are proficient in the acquisition, preparation and application of various types of equipment required for the delivery of anesthesia care.

Home School Student

​Typically home school students eligible to participate in College Credit Plus (CCP) take classes on a COTC campus or online. Home School students who wish to take a COTC course offered at a high school need to be registered within the district.

Associate of Applied Science

The Associate of Applied Science in Engineering Technology offers a quick on-ramp to an in-demand career, excellent salary and advancement opportunities. Students learn real-world, transferable skills in multiple industry sectors and complete their education with a cooperative experience with a local industry. Graduates are well positioned for roles as engineering technicians who design, implement and support a wide range of engineering processes. They may also choose to continue their academic progression for a bachelor’s degree or higher.
