Toby Starr

Business Management Technology

Toby Starr

As Ohio public affairs manager for Intel Corporation, 2016 COTC graduate Toby Starr has a front-row seat to the exciting changes that are taking place as Licking County settles into its place at the center of the Silicon Heartland.

Building on the skills he honed during his time in COTC’s business management program, Starr quickly launched a trajectory that began with an associate degree, expanded to bachelor’s and master’s degrees and has placed him in a rewarding career in his home state.

Goodwill Scholarship Supports Students with Disabilities

Fund established by COTC alumnus

Sonja Darsee and Timothy Young stand in front of the Licking/Knox Goodwill Industries building.

Sonja Darsee, both a first-generation college student and a first-generation Hungarian American, used to work in data entry. “I just felt like it was mundane, doing the same thing over and over,” she said. “I just wanted to be in a field that felt more rewarding where I’m helping people.”

What our alumni say about COTC

Portrait of Heather Prince outside COTC's Pataskala campus.I feel like a lot of people don’t realize what’s available [at COTC]. I loved it. I felt like in addition to not having a wait list, small class sizes, the approachability of the clinical labs, the instructors — everything just matched.

Heather Prince, aesthetic nurse practitioner, Rejuvenations Facial Aesthetic Clinic; adjunct clinical professor, Capital University

I felt that my instructors were readily available. They were approachable. And they made us know from Day One that if you need anything, they are always available. They are willing to help you succeed.

Suzzie Anyigbavor, registered nurse, Grant Medical Center

There were a lot of students my age, and I liked that; it was comforting. I actually thought it was a really easy transition, coming back to school.

Tina Gibson, surgical oncology and medical-surgical travel nurse, Riverside Methodist Hospital
