The Black Heritage Gala is a cultural awareness event involving traditions, history, celebration and fellowship. This is an annual dinner led by students from The Ohio State University at Newark and Central Ohio Technical College and is sponsored by the Office of Multicultural Affairs, Black Student Association and African Student Association.

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) recognizes and encourages scholarship among two-year college students. PTK provides the opportunity for the development of leadership and service, an intellectual climate and exchange of ideas, the lively fellowship for scholars, and the stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence.

Construction of the much-anticipated John and Mary Alford Center for Science and Technology on the shared Newark campus of The Ohio State University and Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) is complete, and the public is invited to tour the brand-new STEM facility at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, August 13 at 9 a.m.

Nominations Sought for Diversity and Inclusion Champion Award

The Community Intercultural Relations Committee is accepting nominations for the Diversity and Inclusion Champion Award. This award recognizes individuals and businesses from Licking County for implementing, improving or supporting diversity and inclusion (D&I) initiatives. Nominations will be accepted through March 1.
