Transcripts are records of your academic achievement and play an important role in the enrollment process. They help determine course placement, evaluate eligibility for college credit earned through College Credit Plus or other colleges and universities, and verify completion of admission requirements. In some cases, transcripts may also be used to determine eligibility for grants, scholarships and other financial assistance.

COTC only accepts official transcripts, which must be issued by or sent from the issuing institution or a third-party service directly. Paper transcripts must be in the original, sealed enveloped from the issuing institution. 

How to Send Transcripts

Electronic delivery

Official transcripts can be sent electronically from the institution or their approved third-party vendor.

Mail

Official transcripts can be mailed directly from the staff of the issuing institution in a sealed envelope to:

Official transcripts can be dropped off by the student in a sealed envelope with a signature or stamp from the issuing institution over the seal of the envelope at:

What Transcripts to Send

High School Transcripts

Request an official transcript from the high school where you graduated by calling or emailing the high school and, in many cases, talking with a guidance counselor. 

Ohio GED Transcripts

Visit the Ohio GED website to request an official GED transcript.

College/University Transcripts

Request an official transcript from all colleges and universities you have attended. Colleges and universities often use an electronic service provider, and an official college transcript can be requested online by searching the institution’s website. 

Transcripts From Schools That Have Closed

Visit the Ohio State Board of Career Colleges and Schools to request transcripts from schools that have permanently closed.
