Mission Statement

The Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness will provide accurate, timely and appropriate information to the college leadership, community and external audiences. The Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness will work collaboratively with institutional constituencies in supporting data informed decision making and furthering the college’s mission.

Vision

The Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness seeks to be the preeminent institutional research and effectiveness office among Ohio’s technical colleges by supporting and facilitating informed planning and decision-making to improve student success and institutional effectiveness.

Responsibilities

​​​​​​​The Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness is responsible for providing the college leadership with information that supports institutional planning, policy formation and decision making; coordinating responses to inquiries for college-related information and serving as a comprehensive source for information about the institution; and administering the Ohio Department of Higher Education’s Higher Education Information system data collection and reporting system on campus.

Daily operations of the Office of Institutional Research and Effectiveness are organized around the following activities:

Institutional Research

The office is responsible for the statistical and analytical work associated with the collection, review, analyses, and the distribution and presentation of college in​formation. The office conducts and analyzes several surveys for numerous departments, coordinates state and national reporting, supports academic accreditation and program review, and responds to requests for data and information from various constituencies around the College. Members of the office serve on several internal committees to provide research support.

Institutional Effectiveness

​Institutional effectiveness relates to the extent to which an institution achieves its missions and goals. This is done through a continual process of planning and outcomes assessment for the purpose of documenting that Central Ohio Technical College is achieving its mission and goals and continuously improving its programs and services.
