Students Inducted Into International Honor Society

Alpha Theta Zeta (ATZ), Central Ohio Technical College’s (COTC) chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) International Honor Society, held an induction ceremony for new members on Saturday, April 5.

PTK recognizes and encourages scholarship among two-year college students. PTK provides opportunities for the development of leadership and service, an intellectual climate and exchange of ideas, lively fellowship for scholars, and stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence.

To be eligible for membership, a student must complete a minimum of 12 hours of associate degree coursework and earn a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher. The following eligible COTC students were proudly inducted:

PTK traces its beginnings to a society that originated with six charter members under the name of Kappa Phi Omicron at Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, in 1910. Today, PTK is the largest honor society in American higher education, with more than 2 million members and 1,200 chapters located across the United States, as well as internationally.
