Associate of Applied Science in Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology
Electrical Engineering Technology is one of the fastest-growing fields in the country, impacting virtually every commercial, industrial, medical and military activity. Computers, telephones, radio, television, radar and sonar are used everywhere from everyday life to space exploration.
COTC Student Success Center
COTC offers a variety of free services to help ensure student success. Many services are available in person on the Newark Campus in Hopewell Hall as well as the extended campuses. In-person services needed on the extended campuses may need to be requested and/or scheduled. Students can take advantage of FREE services both in-person and online. Currently, in order to keep our campus safe, students are encouraged to connect with our offices virtually.
Human Resources
One-Year Certificate
Students who choose to study human resources within the business program at COTC gain knowledge and skills to prepare them for employment as a human resource generalist. Human resource generalists handle the daily operations of a human resource department which can include screening applicants for employment, administering pay and employee benefits, and managing policies and procedures.
Associate of Arts – Social Work
The Associate of Arts (AA) offers students the opportunity to complete the first two years of a bachelor’s degree at relatively low cost and to transfer seamlessly to any public college or university in the state of Ohio. Students pursuing the AA may take courses that fit a variety of four-year major pathways. The state has created Ohio Guaranteed Transfer Pathways where students can choose areas of concentration within the Associate of Arts degree.
Paramedic to Associate Degree Nursing
Associate of Applied Science
Capitalize on your training in emergency medical services as a pathway to an associate degree in nursing. Central Ohio Technical College offers a four-semester transition degree option for certified paramedics to complete the education they need to sit for the NCLEX-RN exam and become registered nurses (RNs). COTC graduates of the paramedic to ADN program are prepared to function in beginning staff-level RN positions in a variety of healthcare facilities and are also prepared to continue their education if they choose to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Board of Trustees
The COTC Board of Trustees is charged by the Ohio Legislature with the responsibility of governing the college. Appointees of the board of trustees shall be qualified electors residing in the Central Ohio Technical College district. By charter granted by the Ohio Department of Higher Education, the legal district of the college consists of the contiguous counties of Licking, Knox and Coshocton. The term of office shall be three years, and the board shall consist of nine members.
