Electrocardiography for the Cardiac Sonographer

Short-Term Certificate

Overview

This short-term certificate program allows sonographers and sonography students to quickly upskill or advance their careers as electrocardiography (EKG) technicians. Students learn how to interpret and perform electrocardiograms (EKGs/ECGs) and, upon completion, are eligible to take the Certified EKG Technician (CET) certification exam. 

This certificate is available only to registered cardiac sonographers (RDCS or RCS) and COTC students currently enrolled in the cardiovascular major of the Bachelor of Applied Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography Technology.

Can I take classes online or face-to-face?

Students pursuing a healthcare certificate should expect to take classes face-to-face to experience hands-on learning. Some general education classes may be offered online.
