Thompson is a banking consultant, specializing in the mortgage banking space.  He spent 23 years as President and CEO at First Federal in Newark before retiring and beginning his consulting work.  Thompson has more than 38 years of banking experience. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business (Finance) from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.​
