Two students walking at Coshocton campusThe Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree offers students the opportunity to complete the first two years of a bachelor’s degree affordably and transition to any public college or university in Ohio. Student’s pursuing the Associate of Arts take courses that fit a variety of four-year major pathways that are available at a selection of convenient times on Central Ohio Technical College’s campuses, as well as online. With an Associate of Arts degree, you can also explore a variety of career options. 

The A. A. curriculum includes a menu of courses in:

  • English composition and literature
  • Social and behavioral sciences
  • Arts and humanities
  • Sciences and mathematics

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, occupations in which workers are required to have an associate’s degree are growing faster than occupations that require other types of training. In addition, the U.S. Department of Education studies indicate that associate degree graduates are more likely to complete their bachelor’s degrees successfully, partly because of their ability to start their careers and thus finance their educations, while finishing their four-year degree programs.
