Concurrent Enrollment Options Program (CEOP)

Earn college credit. Half-price tuition. Take classes at COTC.

Overview

Who Can Participate

  • Any student who wishes to take college courses while in high school, can participate in the Concurrent Enrollment Options Program (CEOP) in addition to or in lieu of the College Credit Plus (CCP) Program.
  • Private school or homeschool students who wish to take college courses while in high school who missed the Ohio Department of Education State Funding Application deadline or were not awarded the amount of credit hours a student wishes to take.
  • Students must be an Ohio resident.

Benefits of CEOP

  • COTC covers half the cost of tuition for students who participate in CEOP. Note: students are responsible for covering the cost of textbooks/materials.
  • Students can earn credits toward high school graduation and can also begin or even complete a certificate and/or degree pathway at COTC.

How to Participate

Public and Private School students

  • Complete a free, online Application for ​Admission.
  • Submit the Recommendation Form signed by the high school guidance counselor, principal or appropriate administrator.
  • Submit an official high school transcript indicating a 2.5 or higher cumulative GPA. Please note that Freshmen must establish a high school GPA prior to being eligible to participate by either completing a full semester of high school coursework or completing high school coursework prior to freshman year that is recorded on a high school transcript.
    • Transcripts can be submitted as follows:
      • Emailed directly from high school personnel to cotcrecords@mail.cotc.edu
      • Mailed to COTC, The Gateway – Student Records, 1179 University Drive, Newark, OH 43055. 

Homeschool students

  • Must be a minimum age of 14 and a maximum age of 18 years old.
  • Complete a free, online Application for ​Admission.
  • Submit a copy of school district communication recognizing student eligibility for home school instruction as outlined in OAC 3301-34-04.
  • Submit an official high school transcript with a cumulative GPA to determine course placement.
