Civil Engineering Technology


 

 

Civil engineers serve the needs of society through the design and construction of highways, bridges, dams, buildings, water supply and treatment facilities, and many other infrastructure systems.  Students of Central Ohio Technical College’s Civil Engineering Drafting / Design Technology option receive training in drafting, computer aided drafting, surveying, mapping, soils, construction materials testing, as well as, subdivision and highway layout.  Foundation courses are provided in mathematics, physics and general education electives

Graduates are prepared for a variety of jobs in government and private construction industry working in support of civil engineers, designers, city planners, and registered surveyors.  Tasks may include assisting in the design/drafting and supervision of construction and highway projects, surveying operations or materials testing.
