Associate Degree Nursing (RN)

Nurture Your Career in Nursing at COTC

COTC Graduates earn an Associates of Applied Science Degree in Nursing Technology with this traditional five semester plan of study. The curriculum provides a balance of general education and nursing courses. Carefully planned clinical laboratory experiences are an integral part of all nursing courses and encompass caring for all age groups in various patient care settings. Affiliated health care facilities in central and east central Ohio are used to provide clinical experiences for students.

COTC Nursing Graduates may choose to work in:

• specialized hospital area

• long-term care facilities

• industrial settings

• medical offices

• private homes

The U.S. Department of Labor states that job opportunities for RNs in all specialties are expected to be excellent. Employment of registered nurses is expected to grow much faster than average for all occupations through 2014, and, because the occupation is very large, many new jobs will result. In fact, registered nurses are projected to create the second largest number of new jobs among all occupations. Thousands of job openings also will result from the need to replace experienced nurses who leave the occupation, especially as the median age of the registered nurse population continues to rise.
