Uncover a Career in Forensic Science at COTC

  • Central Ohio Technical College’s Institute for Public Safety offers a two-year Associate Degree in Forensic Science Technology. Forensic Science is not a career path for those that are faint of heart but the reward is the satisfaction received from helping people. The program is designed to teach the student how to answer questions scientifically, collect and understand evidence, and prepare for reporting evidence in a court of law.

The graduate may choose to pursue
  • a career as a:

• Forensic Technician

• Forensic Technical Assistant

• Crime Scene Investigator

• Crime Scene Examiner

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of forensic science technicians is expected to grow by 19 percent from 2010 to 2020. There are also more career possibilities if the student chooses to continue their education. Central Ohio Technical College has transfer agreements for those graduating from the Forensic Program with many institutions.
