Central Ohio Technical College has partnered with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local Union 1105 in Nashport, Ohio to offer this associate degree program. The partnership makes this program unique in several ways: Students must first be admitted into the electrical program through IBEW before they are eligible to enroll at COTC in the Electrical Trades Technology program. Due to the unique structure of the program, it requires 5 years for completion. The core program courses are offered in the evening at the IBEW in Nashport.

COTC graduates can expect to find work as electricians at commercial and industrial construction projects; school construction and renovation projects; residential construction projects; manufacturing facilities; and power plants. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the job growth in this field is expected to grow faster than average (more than 13%) through 2014.
