The Adena Recreation Center includes a cardiovascular area, free weights, a multipurpose room for group classes and a gymnasium. The state-of-the-art recreation and fitness facility is free to students, faculty and staff. Alumni memberships are available for purchase. Participants must present their COTC ID for entry to the facility. One guest without a school ID is permitted per person; the guest must show state-issued identification.

Hours

Hours of operation vary depending on the time of the year and special events taking place in the gymnasium. If you have questions about specific daily hours of operation, please contact the center directly.

Summer semester hours

Monday–Thursday: 7 a.m.–10 p.m.
Friday: 8 a.m.–9 p.m.
Saturday–Sunday: Noon–5 p.m.

The Adena Recreation Center will be closed on Sept. 7 for Labor Day.

Regional Campus Tournaments

Regional tournaments are hosted and played by students from different Ohio State regional campuses. The dates and locations are:

• Nov. 7: Pickleball in Marion
• Feb. 20: Volleyball in Mansfield
• April 3: Basketball in Newark

Registration for a tournament will close one week before the tournament so rosters can be communicated to the appropriate campus.

If you sign up for a tournament and miss without notifying Abby, you will forfeit your match and be removed from future tournaments.

Fitness center

• Cardiovascular area with treadmills, elliptical machines, upright bikes, recumbent bikes, StairMill and an arm cycle
• Strength area with free weights, functional trainers and selectorized machines

Multipurpose room

• Wood floors and mirrored walls
• Spin bikes

Gymnasium

• 14,000 square feet of space
• Two full-size basketball courts or two full volleyball courts

Outdoor spaces

• Outdoor basketball court – located behind the residence halls
• Two flag football fields – located between Warner Center and the First Baptist Church
• Soccer field w/two full-size goals – located along the bike path, across from Warner Center

Lockers

Day-use lockers are available with locks that can be checked out at the Adena Recreation front desk with your COTC ID. All lockers are first come, first serve. All lockers are subject to staff access for maintenance or cleaning.
