Our Statement of Purpose The purpose of the Ohio State Newark Advising Office is to facilitate students' successful enrollment
- by familiarizing students with OSU curriculum options and academic resources,
- by helping students identify their academic goals and make plans to achieve them,
- by supporting faculty advising with appropriate and timely enrollment data reports,
- by processing enrollment transactions, petitions, and applications in a timely manner,
- and by working at the campus and university levels to help enhance and develop curriculum and enrollment procedures to meet students' needs.
We're here to help students:1. Make enrollment decisions based on a thorough understanding of OSU curriculum options and expectations, on a thoughtful discernment of personal interests, abilities, and goals, and on an honest assessment of progress toward those goals. 2. Become thoroughly familiar with the array of information systems and resources available to OSU students, at all campuses and via electronic media. 3. Take full advantage of university programs, activities, and organizations in order to derive maximum benefit from the university experience. 4. Assess if and when it is appropriate to transfer to the Columbus Campus or to another institution of higher education, based on course and program availability.
