Students who choose to study human resources within the business program at COTC gain knowledge and skills to prepare them for employment as a human resource generalist. Human resource generalists handle the daily operations of a human resource department which can include screening applicants for employment, administering pay and employee benefits, and managing policies and procedures. 

License/Credentialing Eligibility

The human resources courses in the business program align with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) certification. Students can test and obtain SHRM certification if they choose, in addition to earning the human resource certificate from COTC.
