Meeting called to order.

 

  1. Rubric for grant applications:

Keith presented the rubrics for judging faculty and student applications for Research to the Undergraduate.

Fund the chosen project now, re-announce the project in mid- quarter. 

Enhance the current research page to show the biology programs in an enhanced way.

List faculty members who have been awarded the grant as resources for other faculty.  Announce to faculty assembly in February with comments from those engaged in the project.

Link the research page and application to OSU website  http://telr.osu.edu/eLearning/research_grant/

  1. Scheduling grant announcement – with fanfare, in cooperation with Keith, make official in February
  2. Report by Deb Smith
    1. Upgrading H drives on this campus – campus owned laptop can be connected to their home internet provider, then can access to H drives.  Faculty members need to call the Help Desk and set up an appointment with Tim Deaver to have the campus owned laptop configured to access H from home.
    2. Dr. Higgins commented that the H drive access from home works well for him.
    3. Mac users can have the VPN connectivity client loaded on their machines to access H from home as well
    4. Tim Deaver will see that Dr. Stenzel is set up for that access

 

  1. Keith demonstrated the Faculty Services webpage
  2. ITS Strategic Plan Review – communicated that we will review it.  Deb will resend the link.
  3. Other items
    1. A138 connection – is too short for connection to the laptop
    2. Document cameras are available for classroom  use in any laptop connection room. Faculty members should call the Help Desk to request a document camera in a laptop connection room.
