Autumn 2011
What is Panopto?
Panopto is a lecture capture software that allows a user to record their voice, powerpoint, and computer screen. It then packages the content and creates a webpage that can be accessed for later use! Whether you are faculty and want to record a test study, or staff and want to record a workshop, Panopto is the best tool to get it done!
What does it look like?
The end product that is produced using Panopto is very impressive. It’s full-screen view has no pixilation and minimal lag. We still wonder how they do it with such small file size!
Click the link below to view a recording! Once inside the video, double click on the big image to the right to view the video full-screen. http://coursecast.cotc.edu/Panopto/Pages/Viewer/Default.aspx?id=7fe8b9dc-110b-46e8-8bc7-5a8e00218bce
How do I use it?
It is as simple as making a few clicks to record, and a few clicks to save the recording!
How do I get it?
You will need to have Travis Patrick install Panopto on your machine. An account will be created for you to log into to begin recording videos. There is an online portal where all videos a user has made can be accessed for later use. Travis will show you everything you need to know! Also, you can attend our Lecture Capture professional development workshop that will be offered May 11th at 3:00 pm in FH 180. Be sure to send helpdesk@cotc.edu an email to rsvp for this workshop. |
