Students - Knowledge, Skills and Dispositions of the Profession
This program’s purpose is to
prepare qualified individuals in early childhood development and
education. Upon completion of a plan of study students should be able
to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills and dispositions:

Assess children’s development through observation,
collaboration and intentional planning of developmental goals and
objectives.

Develop a disposition of respect for children and
families of various abilities, backgrounds and social status.

Plan, implement and evaluate social and educational
programs for young children.

Access available regional and community resources to
support families

Assume the role of an early childhood development
professional
-
Demonstrate reflective teaching, self-evaluation and
continued need for professional and personal life long learning
beyond graduation.

Demonstrate effective and respectful collaboration
skills with peers, supervisors and families.
-
Demonstrate competence in facilitating child and
family growth and development.
