What is an Articulation Agreement?
Many Ohio four year colleges and universities will afford the COTC student the opportunity to transfer most if not all of their COTC credit course work into an established program at the four year institution. An articulation agreement between COTC and a four year institution is a guarantee to the COTC student that specific coursework taken at COTC will enable that student to be granted transfer credit into a particular program at the four year institution.
How do Articulation Agreements work?
Each institution follows their own admissions processes. A COTC student who wishes to transfer to a four year institution would contact the Admissions Office at the four year institution and follow their processes for application to the four year school. During the application process, the student must self-identify as a Central Ohio Technical College graduate/former student and indicate a desire to evoke the articulation agreement between the two institutions. The four year college Admissions staff will then inform the student of the steps that must be taken for this process to be implemented.
