All students who will apply to COTC health programs are eligible to register for the required ATI TEAS 5.0
Any student who applies for any COTC health program (Nursing, Medical Imaging, Sonography, Surgical Technology) is responsible for knowing and abiding by the following requirements:
Beginning September 2nd, 2011, every student wishing to apply to their respective programming must take the ATI TEAS 5.0 test.
Testing will be available on most Fridays, excluding holidays, finals weeks, and days when a proctor is unavailable.
All students are responsible for scheduling their ATI TEAS 5.0 date themselves through the ATI Website (see below). Students will be able to access a calendar of open sessions when they log in to schedule their exam. Testing sessions can accommodate twenty students, and once a session is full, it will no longer be visible on the calendar.
Students requiring disability accommodations should contact the Testing Center Coordinator for further instructions on scheduling. Students who wish to utilize disability accommodations must have already met with the Office for Disability Services. If you have testing accommodations through the Office for Disability Services, it is important that you contact the Testing Center before you schedule your TEAS test to be sure that the necessary accommodations can be provided on the day you plan to take your test.
While there is no limit to the number of times a student may take the ATI TEAS 5.0, only the most current/recent scores will be taken into consideration during the selection process. If you decide to retest during the same quarter, you must schedule and pay again through ATI. After you have scheduled, it is important you contact the Testing Center at 740-364-9676 to let the Testing Coordinator know that you are testing for the second time. Failure to contact the Testing Coordinator will result in your not being permitted to access a test on the day you have scheduled.
All results must be received by the deadline date of the health program for which the student is applying.
Payment and Scheduling Information:
The cost of the test is $50 and must be paid at the time of registration via a credit card, debit card, or visa gift card.
Payment for the ATI test is nonrefundable/nontransferable, and no-shows and late-shows will result in loss of money. Students cannot reschedule for their exam, but will need to pay and schedule again through ATI TEAS. Students who do not show up for their scheduled testing session will NOT receive a refund and will NOT be able to reschedule without paying the testing fee again.
The deadline to register for a session is 24 hours before the scheduled start time of that testing session.
Choose your dates and times wisely!
If a student should decide to take ATI TEAS 5.0 from an institute outside of COTC, then he or she is responsible for ensuring that ATI TEAS sends his or her score to COTC electronically by the deadline date.
Questions or concerns regarding these or any other testing policies should be directed to the Testing Center Coordinator.
Registration for ATI TEAS 5.0 includes the following required processes:
Students are to log onto ATI at www.atitesting.com to create their ATI account.
Click on “Create New Account” and then follow the screen prompts.
Students will only need to register once, and must establish a username and password to take the ATI TEAS 5.0.
While the username and password can be anything of the student's choosing, the ATI TEAS student ID number MUST be the 7 digit COTC student ID (the 7 digit number is listed under the Profile link at COTCConnect). Failure to use the COTC 7-digit ID number will result in ATI not being able to import a student's scores to their COTC record.
Registering for the ATI TEAS test date is now available via their Online Store at www.atitesting.com. For a detailed description on registering for your TEAS Test date,
please click here.
Students are responsible for ensuring that their ATI accounts work prior to the test date.
On the day of the test:
Students must bring their Photo ID, pen or pencil, and receipt. Students who arrive without username and password will not be permitted to test and must reschedule and pay again.
Students must arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the test to sign in at the front desk. Five minutes before the test begins, all examiness must be signed in and in their seats and ready to test. Students arriving after 8:55 am for the morning test and 12:55 for the afternoon test will not be permitted to test. They will need to reschedule and pay again via the ATI website for their new test.
ATI TEAS does not permit the use of calculators. Do not bring food, drinks, candy, books, notes, or gum. No hoodies, ballcaps, or sunglasses are permitted during testing. Students will hang small bags, such as purses, on the coat racks inside the Testing Center's computer lab. Electronic devices are not permitted during the test, and if left in small bags MUST be completely turned off.
Students may bring with them to the computer lab writing utensils (pen, pencil) and their username and password for their ATI accounts. Scratch paper will be provided by the Testing Center staff.
Breaks are not permitted during the 3.5 hour test. If a student must leave the testing environment, the student's test will be stopped and the student will not be permitted to return to finish the exam. The student must then reschedule a time to retake the test during a future testing session.
Having met all of the requirements above, students are to report directly to the COTC Testing Center in Hopewell 53.
Testing Center staff may stop the test of any student who does not follow the listed procedures and expectations.
The ATI TEAS 5.0 Test will comprise of the following:

Students may not print test results in the Testing Center, but they may take a moment after the exam to review their scores. Students will be able to print their results at any of the open computer labs on campus or at home.
