The Self-Study

The Self-Study purpose is to provide a comprehensive examination of Central Ohio Technical College’s programs, resources, strengths, weaknesses, and strategies for continued assurance of quality and a secure future.  The self-study will provide broad-based evaluation of the effectiveness of the institution in meeting its goals, and thus serve to develop recommendations in response to institutional weaknesses and to build on institutional strengths.

The Self-Study provides a well-timed opportunity to develop an assessment of organizational processes and results related to the extraordinary growth at this institution, while meeting the Higher Learning Commission’s requirements for review of accreditation.  Of preeminent importance to the College is assurance that the progress made over the last decade includes structural and organizational processes that meet or exceed NCA Criteria for Accreditation.  Therefore, the Self-Study purpose includes an underlying commitment to the identification and analysis of institutional strengths and weaknesses and the subsequent development of appropriate recommendations.  Such recommendations will be directed not only to assuring compliance with all NCA criteria, but also to assuring enhancements of institutional effectiveness.
