Message from the President
4-6-2006
Central Ohio Technical College is pleased to have the opportunity to engage in a comprehensive self-study to reaffirm our accreditation. The overall goal of COTC is to become the number one technical college in Ohio, both quantitatively and qualitatively. To achieve our goal, we must retain our accreditation status, besides the other benefits of accreditation. The accreditation process
requires an institution to conduct a self-study. Accordingly, the process is the single most important activity for the College for the next two and one-half years. We have placed the work of the self-study as top priority at the College until the self-study report, site visit, and confirmed reaffirmation of our accreditation are finalized. We are counting
on our trustees, faculty, staff, administrators, students, and the greater community to contribute to the success of this self-study. We will use this process to determine the weaknesses and highlight the strengths of COTC. As weaknesses are identified, appropriate corrective measures will be made. It is our hope that the self-study will enable us to discover opportunities to achieve a higher level of academic excellence, as well as reaffirm our membership with the Higher Learning Commission of
the North Central Association. I ask that all persons involved look at the self-study process as a very positive one and to proceed accordingly. My office is poised to provide the necessary physical, personnel, moral and financial support to successfully complete the self-study process.
I appreciate the hard work we will all contribute to this process. Sincerely, Bonnie L. Coe, Ph.D. President
