Statement of Purpose |

The purpose of the Nursing
Technology - One Year Certificate Program in Practical
Nursing is to provide health education programs for emerging
and practicing healthcare providers, accomplished through
the values of integrity, quality, leadership, affordability
and innovation. |

Learning Outcomes |
|
|
|
At the completion of the Practical Nursing One Year
Certificate plan of study the student will be able to: |

1. |
Value each individual as unique, self-care agent. |
|
2. |
Demonstrate the ability to create and provide safe
psychological and physical environment through competent,
caring practice. |
|
3. |
Communicate therapeutically with individuals and groups. |
|
4. |
Under the direction of an RN or physician, apply the body of
nursing knowledge to make basic sound nursing decisions and
to practice proficiently, caring for culturally diverse
clients, throughout the life span in a variety of structured
health care settings. |

5. |
Collaborate with other members of the health care team to
assist clients to attain, maintain and regain an optimal
level of health through promotion of functional health care
patterns. |

6. |
Assume an active role in continuing professional and
personal growth as a currently informed and competent member
of the health care system. |

Accept responsibility for own nursing practice in the
provision and delegation of nursing within established
legal, professional, and ethical parameters. |

Accept responsibility for own actions within established
legal, professional, and ethical parameters. |
