Transfer Credit Evaluation Process
Students
wishing to obtain transfer credit from another accredited college to
COTC
must submit an official college transcript to the Office of Student
Records. A bulletin with
course descriptions or course syllabi from applicant's former college may
be requested before transfer credit is evaluated.
Courses
taken at an accredited institution in which a student has earned a grade
of "C" (2.00) or better which are parallel to those at
COTC will
be considered for transfer credit. In
situations in which course work is determined to be too old or where
requisite skills may have been lost, transfer credit will not be awarded.
Transfer credit appears as "K" on COTC transcripts, and is not
used in computing COTC cumulative averages.
For
an Associate Degree or an approved Ohio Board of Regents certificate
program, no more than 50 percent of the credits required for the degree or
certificate will be accepted through transfer and non-traditional credit
options combined.
