We appreciate your interest and thank you for your understanding.
Many fire stations seek employees with skills in both firefighting and emergency medical services. You will gain entry-level skills in both fields by pursuing the fire with emergency medical technician (EMT) certificate.
With this certificate you can begin working in fire science and emergency medical services right away. Students are also encouraged to continue their education with the Associate of Applied Science in Fire Science Technology for advancement in a firefighting career.
COTC provides general education courses on our campuses and partners with other institutions to complete the certificate requirements. For fire courses, COTC partners with CTEC. For the EMT course, you may choose to attend CTEC or Knox Technical Center. Learn more about COTC partner locations below.
