Overview

COTC offers the emergency medical technician (EMT) course in conjunction with our affiliated partners at CTEC and the Knox Technical Center. Each location offers the EMT basic course at a different time, so you can choose a location that offers a time that works best with your schedule or that’s convenient geographically.

EMS 120 is a 7-credit hour/one-semester course. Students completing the course will be eligible to apply to take the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician exam to become a certified EMT.

According to the Department of Labor, EMT job growth in the next decade will be faster than the average for all occupations. This certificate is an excellent pathway to begin your career as an EMT.
