Associate of Science

Overview

The Associate of Science (AS) offers students the opportunity to complete the first two years of a bachelor’s degree at relatively low cost and to transfer seamlessly to any public college or university in the state of Ohio. Students pursuing the AS may take courses that fit a variety of four-year major pathways. The state has created Ohio Guaranteed Transfer Pathways where students can choose areas of concentration within the AS.

HECC Cross-Registration Program

HECC Logo

The Higher Education Council of Columbus (HECC) has set up a system of cross-registration for regularly enrolled, full-time undergraduate students at participating colleges and universities in and around Franklin County.

The primary objective of cross-registration is to allow a student to be exposed to an area of study unavailable at COTC without having to seek admission to another institution as a transient or part-time student. Cross-registration allows a student who wants to enrich his/her educational experience to register at one of the other HECC member institutions on a space-available basis for certain credit courses not available at COTC.  Some Associate of Arts and/or Associate of Science concentration plans of study require students to complete a course at another institution (course share) in order to complete the program.  HECC provides an opportunity for students to complete these requirements at no cost. Please note that each HECC participating institution will have specific dates for when they begin accepting cross-registered students.
