Welcome! The Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) Development Office is
working to establish an Alumni Program.As an integral part of the college community, this newly
developed program is working to establish, encourage and maintain a
mutually beneficial relationship between the college, our alumni, and
the community at large. Our program goals are to:

Create, enhance and promote good relations and
communication between alumni and the college

Mobilize COTC graduates to serve as community
ambassadors, inspiring current and future students

Provide opportunities for alumni involvement in the
life of the college.

Represented at 2009 Excellence Awards
Luncheon

2009—Newark, OH—Central
Ohio Technical College (COTC) officials today announced that college
alumna Naomi Mattingly Compton was presented the Distinguished Alumnus
Award during the 2009 Ohio Association of Community College’s (OACC)
Excellence Awards Luncheon in Columbus, Ohio. The award is annually
presented to individuals who have graduated from a certificate or degree
program of an Ohio community college and who have exhibited qualities of
community and professional leadership. The award recipients are
nominated by a trustee or president of an Ohio community college.
Compton, a resident of Alexandria, is the business manager and co-owner
of Ed Compton Construction, Inc. She is the former director of community
education for the Legacy Geropsychiatric Unit, Columbus Community
Hospital and has 24 years of experience in the business, geriatric, and
healthcare industries. Compton
has served
the people of central Ohio in a variety of volunteer leadership
capacities including founder of the Franklin County Task Force on Aging
and as a member or chair of several boards and organizations, including
Alexandria Village Council, Alexandria Zoning and Planning Commission,
and Parker Community Park Board of Trustees. Compton earned her
Associate of Applied Science in Radiologic Technology at COTC and a BA
in health communications at Capital University.

thrilled that the OACC has selected Naomi for this honor,” said COTC
President Bonnie L. Coe, Ph.D. “Her career pathway, continual pursuit of
educational opportunities and dedication to serving her community made
her an outstanding nominee for this prestigious award.”
The Ohio
Association of Community Colleges (OACC) is a voluntary association of
Ohio’s 23 public community colleges. The Association was founded in 1993
as a single forum for advocacy, communication, recognition, trustee
education and trustee-president cooperation. The OACC is the recognized
voice of the community college movement in Ohio.

Central Ohio Technical College's
strategic plan for 2009 - 2013 is a collaborative, living document.
Securing the Future marks a bold departure from past planning
efforts. In its development, it actively engaged over 500
people from various constituent groups including advisory board members,
faculty, staff, and alumni, daring them to think outside the box and
innovate. The result is a five-year plan that focuses on an
achievable number of goals and objectives with metrics for evaluation
