  William T. McConnell Honored at Tree Dedication

  Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) and The Ohio State University at Newark honored William T. McConnell during a ceremony on Friday, May 10, 2013 at Founders Hall at the Newark campus. A Magnolia tree was dedicated to recognize McConnell’s service and leadership to the Next Generation Challenge scholarship campaign.

  COTC Campus Tobacco Free August 1

  As a part of our commitment to the health and well-being of faculty, staff, students and visitors, COTC and The Ohio State University are moving to 100% tobacco free effective August 1, 2013, with the goals of reducing tobacco use, reducing health risks for non-smokers, cleaning up and protecting the campus environment, and becoming a healthier college.

  COTC’s Ariel Hall - First Building in Knox County Certified LEED Gold in Sustainability

  Ariel Hall, the newly renovated Knox Campus of Central Ohio Technical College has received LEED Gold Certification (the second highest level a building can achieve) by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) for its environmentally friendly design and construction.

  Recognition Ceremony for High School Options Students

  Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) will hold a Recognition Ceremony on Wednesday, April 24 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Gateway in Hopewell Hall room 59 on the COTC Newark Campus. This event will recognize students who participated in Tech Prep, Concurrent Enrollment, Post-Secondary Enrollment and Dual Enrollment Programs here at Central Ohio Technical College.

  Digital Media Design Senior Portfolio Show Showcases Student Projects

  The Digital Media Design Senior Portfolio Show event is held to showcase graduating seniors' portfolios from the Digital Media Design program at COTC.  It will be held April 24th from 5:00-7:00 on the first floor of the Warner library.  The community, staff and students are welcome and encouraged to attend.

  Get Back to Class at Rapid Registration with $0 Application Fee

  Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) will hold a Rapid Registration, one-stop enrollment event on Tuesday, April 23 from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Gateway in Hopewell Hall on the COTC Newark Campus.  Check in for the event will be from 5:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.  Participants can meet with a Gateway advisor in a group setting, receive information on featured programs, complete a placement assessment, meet with a financial aid advisor and register for classes- all in one evening. The $20 application fee has been waived during this event.

  Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) will hold a Health Career Expo on Tuesday, April 23, from 11:00 a.m. till 1:45 p.m. at the COTC Knox Campus in Ariel Hall. Admission is free and open to anyone who is interested in learning more about health care education and careers.

  COTC Awards Jill Griesse Highest Honor

  The highest honor granted by Central Ohio Technical College was given to long-time board member Jill Griesse at the March Board of Trustees meeting. Griesse, a resident of Granville, has served as a board member for the college since 1991 and was recognized for her leadership and ardent advocacy for students.

  Red Cross Blood Drive at COTC Knox Campus Tuesday, April 2nd from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

  The Red Cross will hold a blood drive at the COTC Knox Campus on Tuesday, April 2nd. Doors will open at 10 a.m. and appointments will run through 3 p.m. The public is invited to participate alongside COTC students who are hoping to collect 22 units of blood.

  Vendor applications are now being accepted for the annual Independence Day Concert and Fireworks held on the Newark campus of The Ohio State University and Central Ohio Technical College (COTC). This year’s event will be held on Wednesday, July 3.
