WDIC Offers ServSafe® Manager Course

​​​NEWARK, Ohio, February 9, 2017 – The Workforce Development Innovation Center (WDIC) at Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) will offer the ServSafe® Manager course during the month of February. The course is approved to meet the criteria for the Ohio Department of Health's Level II certification. It is a detailed study of food safety procedures and prevention of foodborne illnesses.  Developed by The National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation, this Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) based course gives participants national, state and local recognition as certified in food safety.

Courses schedule:

Option 1: Registration deadline: Feb. 10

Thursday, Feb. 16, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (one-hour lunch on your own at noon)

Friday, Feb. 17, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (one-hour lunch on your own at noon)

  • Exam to be administered at the end of the second course. This is an online exam; computers are provided.

Option 2: Registration deadline: Feb. 17

Thursday, Feb. 23, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (one-hour lunch on your own at noon)

Friday, Feb. 24, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (one-hour lunch on your own at noon)

  • Exam to be administered at the end of the second course. This is an online exam; computers are provided.

All courses are held at the Newark campus of COTC and The Ohio State University. The course cost is $229 per participant or $1,149 per group of up to six people and includes the development and delivery of training, as well as materials and the exam fee.

If a participant is not successful in the first attempt at the examination, there is an option to retest. A retest requires the purchase of another exam seat voucher with guided facilitation at a rate of $116 per participant.

This program and other training opportunities may also be offered at your site, any of the four COTC campuses (Newark, Coshocton, Knox and Pataskala,) or another chosen location. Advanced scheduling is required.
