Students Join Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society

Central Ohio Technical College’s (COTC) chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), Alpha Theta Zeta, welcomed 16 new members during the spring semester.

Since 2006, the chapter has inducted over 1500 students. Those who have joined the honor society during their time at COTC speak of the leadership skills, connections and opportunities membership afforded them.

“I joined PTK because of the opportunities it presented after graduation from COTC,” said alumna Stephanie Probst. “It allowed me to secure an extra scholarship for my education at Ashland University where I completed my bachelor’s degree.”

PTK International Honor Society serves to recognize the academic achievement of two-year college students and provide opportunities for individual growth and development through honors, leadership and service programming. To become a member, a two-year college student must have completed 12 credit hours of associate degree coursework and have a grade point average of at least 3.5.
