Service learning is the teaching and learning strategy that integrates meaningful community service with instruction and reflection to enrich the learning experience, teach civic responsibility and strengthen communities.
"We have more than just the responsibility of educating students in the classroom," said COTC Vice President of Academic Affairs Lauri White. "We have the responsibility to provide the students opportunities for growth in arenas they may not have been exposed to yet."
The showcase features examples of community service projects completed by students in correlation with class requirements. Attendees will be able to learn about the benefits of service learning and view examples from various partner organizations and businesses. The event is hosted by the COTC Service Learning Committee.
