June 30, 2015—Newark, OH—Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) is pleased to invite culinary enthusiasts, home-cooks and entry-level food service professionals to participate in two 4-day culinary workshops at the college. The sessions will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. at the John Gilbert Reese Center on the shared campus of COTC and The Ohio State University at Newark.

The series of workshops, called Community Culinary Creations, offers the community the opportunity to learn from the college's Chef Matt Russo and Chef Angela Dawn Merriman. The first 15 participants to register will be accepted into the workshops, and they must be over the age of 18.

The first 4-day workshop is "Eat Dessert First," and in this baking, pastry and desserts workshop, participants will learn the principles of baking and making tasty syrups, creams, icings and sauces. The second 4-day workshop is the "Basics of Cooking BootCamp," which will include hands-on learning of culinary skills and fundamentals including: knife skills, presenting, garnishing; and preparing stocks, sauces, soups and eggs.
