NEWARK, Ohio, March 20, 2019 – Rising 6th through 9th-grade students from Coshocton County are invited to explore today's high-tech world of engineering, design and manufacturing this summer at Central Ohio Technical College (COTC). Registration is open for Manufacturing and Technology Camp, which will be held June 24-28, 8:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. daily at the COTC Coshocton campus, 200 N. Whitewoman St. Cost is $20 per student. Need-based scholarships are available; registration is limited to the first 18 applicants. Register at cotc.edu/WDIC.
During this interactive camp, students will learn about real-world engineering problems and help create solutions. The week will include tours of local facilities that engineer and manufacture everyday products. The camp will conclude with a showcase where students will share innovations and demonstrate new technological and leadership skills which are needed for high-tech careers in manufacturing.
Manufacturing and Technology Camp is presented in collaboration with COTC, COTC's Workforce Development Innovation Center, the Coshocton County Chamber of Commerce, the Coshocton County Port Authority, Ohio Means Jobs, Ohio Department of Job and Family Services Coshocton County and U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown.
