Disability
Programs
There are a
variety of benefits that can help employees plan for
unexpected events such as disability, job loss, or
death.
Long-Term
Disability
(LTD) - Offers long-term income protection if you become
unable to work because of a medical disability. LTD
benefits are extended by the college to provide income protection
after a 90-day waiting period when your extended
disability prevents you from working. If you have been
off work due to an injury or illness, contact the Office
of Human Resources.
Short-Term
Disability
(STD) - Offers income protection to bridge the gap
between disability eligibility and commencement of
long-term disability if you become unable to work
because of a medical disability. The college
currently offers STD through AFLAC. For
information regarding enrolling in a STD plan, contact
the Office of Human Resources.
Workers'
Compensation
- Benefits provided for injuries or occupational
diseases sustained at the workplace.
Unemployment
- Wage replacement for those suffering a job
loss.
