Strategic Planning

The office is responsible for facilitating and supporting the strategic planning process of the college as well as housing and updating the Key Performance Indicators of the college. The Director of Institutional Research & Effectiveness works closely with the Vice President for Institutional Planning and Human Resources in the strategic planning process.

 
Accreditation is a voluntary process whereby assessment and evaluation is performed by external organizations to assure quality and ongoing improvement within higher education. Central Ohio Technical College participates in both types of accreditation, institutional and programmatic.

 
HLC LogoCentral Ohio Technical College is fully accredited at the institutional level by the Higher Learning Commission. (Address: 30 North LaSalle Street, Suite 2400, Chicago, IL 60602-2504; Phone: 312-263-0456; Fax: 312-263-7462). The process is cyclical with the last reaffirmation of accreditation occurring in 2008-2009.

 
Programmatic accreditation focuses on specific programs and currently five COTC programs are accredited through this mechanism.

Assessment

The Office of Institutional Research & Effectiveness provides support to the Student Learning Assessment Steering Committee.

 

Program Review​​

The office plays a critical role in supplying data to departments and programs for the program review process. The office also houses a copy of all program reviews for college accreditation purposes.
