The purpose of the Emergency Medical Services program is to prepare qualified emergency medical service – paramedics who practice ethically, respond to patient needs with competence and compassion and help fulfill the community’s health care needs.

Learning Outcomes

​At the completion of the Emergency Medical Services plans of study the student will be able to:

  1. Comprehensive pre-hospital assessment and management of airway emergencies
  2. Comprehensive pre-hospital assessment and management of cardiac emergencies
  3. Comprehensive pre-hospital assessment and management of medical emergencies
  4. Comprehensive pre-hospital assessment and management of obstetrical and pediatric emergencies
  5. Comprehensive pre-hospital assessment and management of trauma emergencies
  6. Comprehensive pre-hospital understanding of EMS operations
  7. Passage of National Registry cognitive and psychomotor exams, and positive affective program evaluation
