Electrical Engineering Technology is one of the fastest growing fields in the country, impacting virtually every commercial, industrial, medical and military activity. Computers, telephones, radio, television, radar and sonar are used everywhere from everyday life to space exploration. Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology graduates can expect to:

  • Custom-build and maintain computers and computer networks.
  • Install cable & wireless data communication systems.
  • Maintain telephonic and computer networks, and security systems.
  • Evaluate and test products using measuring and diagnostic devices to adjust and repair equipment.
  • Set up, install and operate programmable logic controllers used in manufacturing operations.
To accommodate working students, some courses are available during the evening, and students may enroll full or part-time.

Students who complete the requirements for this program will be awarded the Associate of Applied Science degree in Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology.

Electrical Engineering Technology  graduates who wish to continue their education are eligible to complete their technical bachelor’s degree at several Ohio universities, including The Ohio State University, Bowling Green State University, Ohio University and Miami University.

The performance of the COTC Engineering Technology program is reflected through program effectiveness data. Program effectiveness data includes the program graduation data, enrollment data and job placement data. 

Enrollment Data

  • The Electrical Engineering Technology program's enrollment for Autumn 2015 was 44 students. For all of 2015-2016 enrollment was 59 students.

Graduation Data

  • The Elec trical Engineering Technology program had 5 graduates in academic year 2015-2016 .

Employment Data

  • During the ’15-’16 academic year, five individuals received a degree within Electrical Engineering Technology. Four graduates responded to the Graduate Survey. Regarding employment status, two respondents reported full-time employment and one reported part-time employment by choice. All three respondents indicated their employment was related to their field of study. The average salary range for the employed respondents was $37,000 to $39,999.
