COTC awards the Associate of Applied Science degree to graduates of Diagnostic Medical Sonography Technology - Ultrasound. The college offers two majors:

General Ultrasound

  • Abdominal, Obstetrical and Gynecological

Cardiovascular Ultrasound

  • Adult Echocardiography and Vascular
Sonography careers continue to grow and with the development of new technologies, growth is projected to continue into the future. 

COTC also offers a 3rd major, SPECIALTY MODALITIES, that is only open to students enrolled in the DMS program or registered sonographers who would like to cross-train into a different sonography specialty.  Non-program students seeking this option must hold active RDMS, RVT or RDCS credentials through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or RVS, RCS credentials through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI).   Students approved for this option may take any DMS course on the Specialty Modalities plan of study.

The Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program at Central Ohio Technical College is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Joint Committee on Education in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
